It is hard to believe that we only have about a month of summer left before the fall semester. I will be on my 9th semester of college and my last. Graduation is just around the corner (December 18th)! At least to me it is just around the corner. I can't wait!
This summer has been very interesting. I finished up my general education requirements with a statistics course. Other than class, I have been working. I have two jobs now and am enjoying them. For the first couple of months this summer I lived with my grandmother. Needless to say, it was not the best housing situation. I felt like I was living with a typical roommate. It stressed me out too much, and I was able to get back to campus. With help from friends and their prayers, I have moved forward.
It is getting close to the elections this year too! The Primary Elections are on August 5th. I can't wait to see the results. I hope the country sees a "change" and a statement made by the elections. As for Tennessee, the governor's race will be interesting in its self. We shall see!
This fall, I am taking easy classes just to finish up my credit hours for graduation. Classes include "World Geography", "Map and Mapping", "Global Politics", "Research Methods", and "Under Hitler's Shadow". History, Political Science, and Geography classes that are at lower levels than senior classes. I am looking forward to all of them.
In my four years of college, this was my first summer to stay here in Chattanooga and not go home. The reason was for class and jobs. I figured it would be a bad idea to go back to Martin to try and find a job for a couple of months. However, I have also found how hard it is to be away from the family so long with out getting to see them. Between Christmas and the end of June, the only times I was able to go home was for a couple of weekends. I finally got a chance to stay home for a week in June. The bond I have with my family is strong and I miss laughing with everyone at home and playing ridiculous games, that my sisters always won!:)
That's part of life though. I hope anyone who reads this is doing well. God Bless!
